My Story
Welcome to Mrs. Bartel Tutors English! As a seasoned high school educator, I am committed to helping students sharpen their literary analysis, writing proficiency, and critical reasoning abilities. Following my transition from the traditional classroom in June 2026, I now dedicate my expertise to online tutoring, ensuring high-quality academic guidance is accessible to all. I aim to foster independent thinking and effective communication through tailored instruction that respects each learner's unique pace and style.
*Specialized Education: Degree in German Literature from UW-Madison with dual-certification in English and Adaptive Education from Silver Lake College.

Our Services
01.ACT English Test Preparation
Test taking strategies, reading comprehension work, and writing techniques. Knowledge of the test structure and question types. Prepare for the exam with targeted strategies to reach your goals.
02.AP English Literature and Composition Preparation
Build close reading skills, writing practice, and overall test taking strategies to demonstrate the required rigorous skill level. Consistently high student achievement. Following are the passing rates for the past five years: *2022: 12 students 100% passing rate *2023: 6 students 100% passing rate *2024: 22 students 100% passing rate *2025: 14 students 92.9% passing rate *2026: 20 students 85% passing rate, 6 students earned a 5, and 4 students earned a 4. Students earn college credits.
03.Middle & High School Academic Support
Build strong reading comprehension, analytical thinking, and writing skills across all levels. This option for academic support can be for home school student support or students in a school setting who seek more personalized reinforcement to reach your academic goals. * Homeschool English Instruction - Personalized guidance in reading, writing, and critical thinking for homeschool students. 04.AP Literature Teacher Mentoring
Trained teacher mentor with proven success in guiding and collaborating with teachers to help them refine their curriculum and classroom strategies. Mentor AP Literature teachers to elevate classroom instruction and improve student outcomes.
05.Learning Pod
The learning pod service is designed for a minimum of four students in a group of people all working on the same skill. Students could get four to six people together to sign up for a learning pod to cover ACT preparation strategies, for example. Each participant must sign up for the time slot and cover the $50 fee.

Mon/Wed/Fri | 8:00 – 11:30 & 1:00 – 5:00
Tue/Thu | 9:00 – 11:30 & 1:00 – 6:00

Tuition Rates: Payment required when scheduling service
Single Session: $60 per hour
5-Session Bundle: $250 for five one hour sessions
Teacher Mentorship: $75 per hour

Policy Note: A $30 fee applies to missed sessions or no-shows without 24 hours’ notice.
Students are expected to be focused during the tutoring sessions and not engage in distractions.
